In fact, through EDI, companies do business in an electronic manner. This saves time and costs due to the fact that these processes run automatically and standardised.

There are several EDI standards, like EDIFACT (developed by the United Nations), HL7 (healthcare), TRADACOMS (British supermarkets), ODETTE (automotive industry), EDINE (energy market), Florecom (flower auctions) and EB-XML.

Global Data Synchronisation
Global Data Synchronisation (GDS) enables companies to exchange product information in a standardised manner. In the data pool all the product information is stored which the companies, who are connected to the data pool, are offering. Another company that can profit from this information can collect data like height, width, packaging measurements etc. from the data pool.

SRC System Integrators is market leader in Europe in the area of GDS software. By means of the GDS Software of SRC companies can collect, process, enrich and exchange information with trading partners by means of the data pool.

Product Information Management

GUSI
GUSI stands for Global Upstream Supply Initiative. By means of XML standards manufacturers of consumer goods and suppliers of packaging materials, ingredients and semi-manufactures electronically exchange information. The importance of GUSI can be found in the wish to integrate the links in the logistical chain (supply chain) in a tighter manner, without each and every link separately starting up valuable and time-consuming IT integration projects with all the other links. This worldwide project has led to one standard so that electronic communication between various links in the supply chain can be simplified.

SRC System Integrators is a supplier of products and services to roll-out GUSI between the separate links in the supply chain.

Supply Chain Management
Supply Chain Management (SCM) regards the process of planning, implementing and controlling of all aspects of the logistical process and to, in a manner as effective as possible, move semi-manufactures and/or final goods from the point of origin to the final destination, in many instances the eventual consumer (the point of consumption).

SRC System Integrators helps companies to improve the logistical processes by means of support and advice in the area of supply chain management. Here, communication constitutes an important aspect. Due to the fact that information is exchanged electronically (communicated) the order turn-around times will be shorter, the out-of-stock lower and it will be possible to better anticipate changes on the market. With SRC as a partner thinking along with you, you are assured of a tailored supply of services as a result of which your logistical processes can be optimised.

This way suppliers will, for example, personally manages the inventory at their customers. The reason for the development of VMI originates from the wish to integrate the links in the supply chain in a tighter manner. As a consequence the efficiency and service increase as a result of which the total stock will decrease. This ensures lower costs in the area of inventory management.

SRC System Integrators is a supplier of VMI applications. In addition SRC advices about how the implementation of VMI can lead to advantages for your company.

AS2
AS2 (Applicability Statement 2) is a specification about how to transport data securely and reliably over the internet. Security is achieved by using digital certificates and encryption.

Data can consist of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) messages such as DESADV, INVOIC, APERAK, ORDERS etc. but may be of any other message type. AS2 specifies how to connect, deliver, validate and acknowledge data, and creates an envelope for a message which is then sent securely over the internet.

An implementation of AS2 involves two machines, a client and a server, communicating with each other over the Internet. At the operating system level, the AS2 client may be a server as well, offering its communication services to application software.

The client sends data to the server (e.g. a trading partner); on receipt of the message, the receiving application sends an acknowledgment or MDN (Message Disposition Notification) back to the sender.

EAI
Enterprise application integration (EAI) is a collective word for the integration technology with which software systems can be linked to one another. EAI, in its most elaborate form, consists roughly of four areas. A part to send messages (messaging), a part to coordinate formats, a part with the mentioned connectors and, finally, Business Process Management.

The EAI component, BPM, controls and monitors the logistics of information flows between applications. It is comparable to work-flow management, but then fully automated. Suppose that a new client is entered into CRM, the BPM will ensure that this client is also automatically created in the ERP system. In BPM, you capture your business logic. On the one hand, EAI lowers management costs, especially if a company has a lot of applications. Additionally, this replaces the double-manual entry of data and avoids the errors and mistakes that can result from that. It also accelerates the integration of a new business, for example, after an acquisition. On the other hand, EAI has a number of strategic advantages because information is more quickly available. Through this, a company can, for example, offer new services (tracking & tracing), respond faster and is better disposed to provide a customer with information.
